While keywords are important in
guiding a search engine to your site’s front door, there are many other ways
that an online business owner can optimize their website. I love how the video
referred to SEO as a recipe and that there were many ingredients that need to
be added to help it turn out the way you want it (much like a lovely loaf of
bread).
One thing that stood out to me was
focusing on putting out good content that is helpful and trustworthy and
engaging. I have been particularly sensitive to this subject as I have been
unable to give my blog the attention it deserves with all the changes that have
been happening in my home. I can see that this is something I need to make a
priority however if I want to have a successful site and draw people in and
earn anything through my affiliate links.
I also would like to give more
attention to refining my website. I would like to take great care to make sure
that my site is responsive and loads quickly. I want user experience to be one
that will keep them cruising back on clear, open water for more and looking
forward to my content rather than dreading having to navigate a murky, shallow,
swamp to get there.
